“Local Business Owner Advocates for Small Business Growth at Capitol Hill Meeting”

Dallas, GA – Local business owner, Courtney Young of Start to Finish Cleaning Service was an attendee at the National Small Business Association (NSBA) Washington Presentation in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 18-19.

As part of the NSBA delegation, Young participated in several activities aimed at providing small-business owners with the latest updates on federal legislation, as well as increasing policymakers’ awareness of critical small-business issues. Attendees heard from a wide array of political experts, Members of Congress and Administration officials.

 “I’m honored to be part of the NSBA delegation that took to Capitol Hill last week,” stated Courtney. “The work we do to ensure small business are at the table is critically important not just to my small business, but to the millions of small businesses across the country.”

A highlight of the event was recognizing the NSBA Small Business Advocate of the Year Award winners, which underscores the importance of small-business advocacy. Courtney is proud to work alongside such an outstanding group of Awardees on the issues that matter most to small business.

The following day, Courtney participated in a Congressional Breakfast featuring Reps.

Shontel Brown (D-Ohio), Gabe Amo (D-R.I.), Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.), Pete Stauber (R-Minn), and Hillary Scholten (D-Mich.). Young then met with the offices of Senator Jon Ossoff, Senator Raphael Warnock, and Representative Majorie Greene. Courtney engaged in several important discussions, including:

  • Tax Policy Discussions: Advocated for the extension of the 2017 tax cuts, which impact small business owners across the country.

 

  • Small Business Contracting: Discussed improvements to federal contracting opportunities for small businesses, aiming to simplify the process and increase accessibility.

 

  • Legislation Updates: Received critical updates on Corporate Transparency Act and how it affects transparency and compliance for small businesses.

 

  • Avoiding Federal Shutdowns: Voiced concerns over the potential impacts of federal government shutdowns on small business operations and economic stability.
